BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS

HOW TO BID ONLINE

Bid online at www.lpb.org/auction by following the instructions on the website on How To Register online and bid. Online bidders will receive an e-mail stating that they have been outbid and this will prompt them to post a new, higher bid.

MAXIMUM BID

Bidders will be able to provide a precise bid amount or a maximum bid. This allows you to provide the absolute maximum amount you are willing to bid on a particular item(s). Any time someone outbids you, if you have provided a Maximum Bid amount, the system will automatically increase your bid to the next appropriate level. This process will continue on until the bid amount for the item(s) surpasses your Maximum Bid provided. If you are the winner of the item(s) and the high bid is less than your Maximum Bid amount, then you will be responsible for the actual bid amount and not your Maximum Bid amount that you had previously provided.

Please note that Maximum Bid will not execute an Instant Purchase.

BUY IT NOW / INSTANT PURCHASE

The Buy It Now option allows you to instantly purchase the item at a discount. Once bidding exceeds the Buy It Now price, this option goes away and bidding continues.

CLOSINGS AND CONFIRMATIONS

When the auction closes, winners will receive an e-mail notification of the item(s) that they have won.

At the close of the auction, your major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) that you provided when registering to bid will be charged for the items that you’ve won. If we are unable to confirm you as the high bidder, the item will be sold to the next highest bidder.

PICK UP OR SHIPPING

Items must picked up at LPB (7733 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge) from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Your e-mail notice will contain specific details regarding pick up.

If you choose to have your item(s) shipped, you must contact Friends of LPB at (225) 767-4214. All items are shipped via UPS Store #3367. A representative with UPS will contact you for payment and the shipping total. Payment must be made by credit card by the registered bidder.
